Export to Match Students with National Student Clearinghouse

Posted by

Our GEAR UP students went on college visits, completed their FAFSAs, and graduated high school. But what are they doing now? Did they attend their first choice college? Did they return to university after their first semester? How can we find out? Many GEAR UP grants use the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to track their graduates and find out where they are enrolled in postsecondary education. In order to track students using the NSC, users must upload a spreadsheet with students’ information, formatted to NSC specifications.

SCRIBE has a new export called the “Student Export for Uploading to NSC” that produces a spreadsheet with all of the necessary information and is set up just the way NSC wants it. Run this report by going to Reports > Export (with Sensitive Information) > Student Export for Uploading to NSC.

The export includes the necessary student information (provided it has been imported into SCRIBE), search date and NSC account number.

If your grant has students about to graduate high school or are already in PSE, reach out to the Xcalibur team for more information. We can help you set up this report in SCRIBE. We will add your grant’s NSC account number to SCRIBE so make sure you have that handy.
